Senior Backend Engineer (Node.js, AWS & Telephony)

Fully_Remote
Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Mexico, Peru, Uruguay, Brazil

Summary of the Role

We are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer (Node.js, AWS & Telephony Integrations) to design, build and scale the backend services, APIs and AWS cloud infrastructure that power a high-volume cloud contact center (CCaaS) operation. This is a software engineering role first: you will be a strong Node.js and AWS engineer who also understands telephony, building programmatic call scripting, dialer logic and complex IVR flows, and integrating them with CRMs, lead distribution engines and databases.

Desired Skills

  • Full-Time availability
  • English B2 or above
  • 5+ years of core software engineering experience, with advanced proficiency in Node.js and building robust backend services
  • Hands-on experience designing and deploying applications in AWS (Lambda, API Gateway, SQS/SNS, DynamoDB/RDS)
  • Deep understanding of telephony flows and integrations, with hands-on experience building dialers, complex IVR logic and call scripting
  • Experience integrating enterprise cloud contact center platforms (NICE CXone / inContact, Genesys Cloud, Five9, Amazon Connect or Twilio)
  • Strong SQL proficiency (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and deep experience building and consuming REST APIs and idempotent webhooks

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain scalable backend services, API endpoints, webhooks and middleware with Node.js and AWS to synchronize call data with CRM systems and identity providers
  • Programmatically design and configure complex inbound/outbound call flows, ACD skill routing, IVR logic and outbound dialer strategies (voice/SMS)
  • Architect and deploy highly available serverless telephony integrations on AWS (Lambda, API Gateway, SQS/SNS)
  • Partner with security and network teams to troubleshoot SIP/RTP traffic, and maintain observability dashboards (latency, API failure rates) using Datadog or CloudWatch
  • Drive software engineering standards across the telephony stack, including Git version control, CI/CD pipelines and rigorous code reviews

Nice-to-Haves

  • Direct experience with NICE CXone / inContact
  • Experience with AI voice integrations (Speech-to-Text → Intent → Response flows)
  • Experience with CRM data platforms such as Salesforce
  • Experience with observability tools such as Datadog, New Relic or CloudWatch
  • TypeScript and Python

Who You Are

  • You have strong operational judgment and are methodical and careful when applying changes in high-availability, live call environments
  • You translate complex VoIP and telephony constraints clearly to non-technical operations and sales leaders
  • You are root-cause oriented: instead of quick fixes, you dig into SIP logs, network packets and API failures to prevent recurring issues

Some benefits:

  • 🏢 Offices in some cities
  • 🖥️ 100% remote work
  • ⌚ Full-time schedule, flexible according to objectives
  • 🏖️ PTO & holidays
  • ⚕️ Medical insurance
